Work opportunity big time?
I want to further my career in ways of gaining experience with some of the big wigs. I'm a Hair stylist/ makeup artist. I want to try and get in contact with the organisers but i don't know who to contact. For example i'd love to help out with hair and makeup of the logies, or the mtv awards or fashion week etc. I'm from around Melbourne Victoria Australia. If anyone has any ideas or knowledge of this kind of thing i'd be forever greatful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.
in your area, check the web for companies called event organizers, event management companies, audiovisual production companies, and fashion magazines.
all these types of companies have direct connections with corporate clients and many of them do not have in-house professionals such as writers, choreographers, makeup artists, songwriters, voice talents...and many more creative experts.
these companies will provide you with a foot in the door to mtv and fashion week because they usually supply management and technology support for the events you want to participate in.

How do I sell work / life balance to managers with an old school mentality?
I’ve been selected on my job to sell the concept of work / life balance to a bunch of managers who are from the old school and think everyone needs to be in the office from 9 to 5 Monday – Friday. Even though we have employees in the office during these times, it does not equate to productivity. However based on the research I’ve done, many people are more productive when given the opportunity to work in alternate locations (telework) and schedules (compressed work week, flex-schedule). Could you help me with some suggestions on how to best sell the work / life balance concept? I want them to walk away from my presentation thinking they have no choice but to adopt this program as part of our policy. Thanks for your help!!
These programs/sales pitches almost always work better with the managers coming up with the solutions
The pitch is to SHOW them the statistics (power-point AND paper hand-outs, since they are old-school).
Then, ask them how this could be implemented in their workplace with a minimum of disruption.
THEIR solutions will be YOUR solutions, and YOUR solutions will be invested in by the managers.
Remember, though, you are not asking for problems or disadvantages to the plan, but HOW to increase productivity in their department.
No one has to do anything.
Why should you help the less fortunate?
MOST of the World's human population is living in poverty, while 1% of people have like 99% of the world resources and wealth. Do you really think that head of some Corporation that sits in an office signing papers and delegating work deserves to have billions of dollars, thousands of acres of land? Do you really think that he has worked harder than a a simple farmer, who spends his life plowing Fields, planting seeds, and growing food? The distribution of wealth is ridiculously unfair and immoral.
You talk about a person who has come from a low-income environment and is now making lots of money. Why should they help those less fortunate? Well that person should know that all the money, job position titles, and all the materialistic bull crap doesn't mean a God damn thing. It's all an illusion. Those on top, want to keep people down. They want to control people.
And i think most "rich" people help those less fortunate because they feel guilty.
You should do it because it's the right thing to do.
ADDITION: Another reason to help less fortunate, is because you get a tax break, while making the world a little better for someone.
