Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe for 5'7"?
Hello there, I am trying get a bigger bike, and seriously considering Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. I know that visiting a local Yamy dealer is the best way to go for this type of question, but I am kind of far a away from visiting one occasionally. As stated, I am 5'7", when I seat on a Honda VTX 1300R, I can plant my feet completely on the ground, but can't if I seat on VTX 1800R. I know this is due to my leg length and how wide the seat for VTX1800 is made, but I think I can manage those bikes at the 1300cc range to 1500cc, including VTX1300R, Vstar 1300 and Suzuki C90T. By the way, I know that the Royal Star Tour deluxe is about 100 pounds heavier than other 1300cc models. Thanks guys.
I think any of the Star bikes will fit you well. They are all low riding and have a low center of gravity. A friend of mine has a Star Stratoliner (1900cc?). He is 5'6", long torso, short legged. I would make the trip but call ahead to make sure they'll let you test drive.
I agree with your comment on the VTX1800. I'm 6' and it's too tall for me.

Super Heavy Hauling into East Texas
Seat Size on English Saddle?
I finally found a wonderful wide tree saddle to fit my mutton-withered horse! However, now after some further reading I am wondering if the seat size is too small for me.
The saddle has a 16" seat, and I can fit two fingers behind me to the cantle--I've read that you should have 4 ideally. I am somewhat small I suppose: 5 ft. 1 in., 130 lbs. at my heaviest. In western saddles I tend to use small seat sizes (I think my western saddle's size is a 15"?)
Is this seat size too small for me, and will it greatly affect my riding?

if he is a 15 in western, you really want a 17 english saddle, i would keep looking!
