Wheelchair Weight Lifting Exercises

Is this a good exercise routine?


I have a disease called Spin bifida which has put me in a wheelchair. My question is if I lift weights on Mondays, Wednesday‘s, and Friday’s for 30 minutes, and Wheel around my block on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s, and Saturday’s for 30 minutes will this have a bad affect on my body or a good one? I exercise like this to lose body fat and gain muscles mass, but I am wondering if this will back fire on me if keeps doing it this way? By back fire I mean will I start to lose muscle mass instead of gaining it?

That does sound like a good plan. However I'm not especially familar with Spina bifida, so I can't say whether it will have an impact. That's up to your judgement or a doctor.

30 miniutes may not be enough time for lifting weights, that depends on your routine and what exercises you do / can do. It would be worthwhile to seek out more information on lifting weights, especially for people in a wheelchair.

Seated shoulder presses, curls, seated tricep extensions umm you can probably do horizontal seated rows toward ur stomach, but there's not much choices when you can't stand
