Wheelchair Washer

Can I take household items into Mexico?
I plan to pull a small trailer on my trip to Mexico. Since I have room to spare, family members have already asked me if I can transport something for them. They include a new washer, used motorized wheelchair, and a used christmas tree. Do you know if I have to pay a taxes on these items? Should I risk going through the Nothing to Declare line at the border crossing? I don't mine doing favors but it would really suck if I have to have pay. Any tips would greatly be appreciated.
You will have to pay taxes! (if they feel like collecting on that day LOL) What you need to do is make receipts as if you bought things at a garage sale...CHEAP! Take everything out of the box and NO price tags. Make the washer look used if possible! They charge according to value of course! Good luck!

Government housing needs better accommodations?
I recently moved into government housing because I am disabled. This complex is a combination of low income families, the elderly and the disabled. The laundry room is almost totally inaccessible to someone in a wheelchair. The room is very small with a row of washers and a row of dryers with a narrow path between them. The only machines that someone in a wheelchair can really get to are the very first machines.
I only use a chair on occasion so it doesn't really affect me but I really am concerned for those who rely on a chair all the time. I believe there are about 3 people here right now that are either in a chair or scooter. Seems no one knows how to go about asking for a larger, more accessible room.
Whom would I contact to get this started? Are there grants available if the housing authority doesn't want to help?
You could write to your local or state representative for new changes, also to the office ahead of your housing complex.
