Wheelchair Transport Medical Any ideas on how I might go about starting a transport service for Patients that provides basic care???
I am Registered Nurse and I have noticed that there is only two options for transporting any patient to and from the hospital. Those two options are only a basic transport service that just picks the patient's up in a wheelchair or stretcher with no medical background. If the patient or family wants a nurse to be with the patient during the transport it costs an additional $200 or more depending on where they are going. The other option is using the EMR (ambulance service) which is like paying an arm and leg. Being in Minnesota it seems like there can only be the one Ambulance service for certain districts. So even trying to start a new transport service that just provided Basic cares wont be issued a license in the state of Minnesota.
I am wondering if there might be any other options or suggestions out there to start a service like this and be able to make it work out. Something else needs to be provided for patients that provides basic care needs to and from their destination.
