Wheelchair Motorbikes
Can anybody help me with the title of a book?
I read this book in 2000 and it was written by a female author, in first person. The protagonist is a teenager living with her stepfather, who's violent, and a younger half-sister, confined to a wheelchair after an accident. She was in fact run over by a boy riding a motorbike in a park, if I remember correctly. The boy ended up in prison for that. Years later, the girl happens to find out her best friend is dating that guy and she tries desperately to avoid meeting him. I remember that when she's forced to meet him, she dyes her hair in an attempt not to be rocognized. In the end she discovers he was very upset the day of the accident because he had just found out that her stepfather and his mother had a relationship. The man when he comes to know he's still around, beats him up and the boy ends up in hospital. However, the ending is a happy one. Is there someone who's heard of this book and can help me identify it?

Wheelchair Motorbike
Can you help me find out the title of this book ( I'm desperate!!!!)?
I read this book in 2000 and it was written by a female author, in first person.
