stroller for disabled teens?
i have 4 severely disabled teens and 3 need wheelchairs. Do they make wheelchairs that are more friendly looking. And are more lightweight? Like a stroller for disabled teenagers? where can i find them?
yes, they make a ton of different kinds of wheelchairs and strollers. are you involved with easter seals at all? they can recommend different chairs and strollers for your teens. or any PT or OT if not Easter Seals. also, there is a magazine called abilations that has a bunch of really cool stuff in that you could use, including strollers. i don't know where you live, but you could also contact a children's hospital and get recommendations. these things are really expensive, but sometimes you can get insurance to pay for them if you get a doctor to recommend them. good luck and feel free to email me if you have anymore questions.

My wheelchair needs an alignment?
I got hurt a few months ago and things have gotten so bad that I can't walk for more than 10 minutes at a time using a cane, so my Father-in-law has graciously lent me a wheelchair his Mom used when she was alive. This chair is one of the lightweight ones, and seems quite solid, and is rather comfortable to sit in. My problem is this: It seems to need an alignment. When rolling, it pulls to the left. It is a rather pronounced pull, not something that only happens once in a while. Does anyone have any suggestions on what may be causing this, and/or ways to correct it? I am pretty handy under normal circumstances, but my darn tools are in the basement and it is very difficult for me to get to them, however not impossible. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
The most common problem would be a bearing issue.
Flip the chair over and spin the tires- if both back tires and both front casters spin about the same, try to spin the casters. In most chairs, there are two bearings per tire and caster, and 1 or 2 per caster stem.
Changing bearings usually just means removing the axle bolts (this usually takes a 5/8" or 3/4" wrench), then popping out the bearings. You can order new bearings in many places, such as http://www.ocelco.com
In some brands, the front casters can be set to different angles- make sure the angles are set the same.
Also check for squareness- do all 4 tires touch the ground the same way? Are the rear tires square (which is both hard to check and hard to correct)?
