Wheelchair Lifts For Cars

Your opinions and/or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated
Six months ago, my disability progressed to the point where my legs will no longer do what I tell them to do. The biggest draw-back to that is I can no longer drive. I love to drive and my wife hates to and with her disability she is unable to lift my wheelchair up to load it in the car. We live in our dream home we had built taking my disability in account. All our doors are wide, ramps were installed, and our bathroom is accessible. But we live 35 miles from the nearest town that consists of more than a mini-market and gas station. I know there is the availability of having hand controls installed on our car but I don’t know where to look for a company that does that. Also, once I get in the car how would I get my chair in? Are there organizations that help with the financial part of the conversion?
The are various van and car mobility conversion companies that are able to convert your vehicle for you in various ways. Alot of these companies are online and very easy to find.

Muscle Cars (Paperback) $20.47 In 2010, a 1970 Plymouth Superbird fetched $286,000 at an auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 2009, a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda sold for $2.16 million. Auctions of classic cars in general and muscle cars in particular routinely garner upwards of $39 million annually. Since their debut in the early 1960s, Americans have been in love with the horsepower under the hood of muscle cars like the GTO, Camaro, and Mustang. From their origins in Detroit, muscle cars became the stuff of dreams for millions of baby boomers. Car buff and historian Colin Romanick lifts the hood on these classics in Muscle Cars, covering everything from legendary automotive icons like John DeLorean and Lee Iacocca to the differences between muscle cars and pony cars to the relationship between street cars and racing cars. Romanick also looks at the economic environmental effects of the 1970s that brought an end to the muscle car era. |
