Wheelchair Leg Lifts
Whats with my RSD??
I've had it for seven years now. Nothing seems to work for me. I've had two nerve block catherders, water therapy, just plain physical therapy, and too many meds to count. While I am doing tons better than I was (I was in a wheelchair), and I can now walk and everyone who looks at me would think I'm normal, sometimes the pain can seem unbearable. It was originally in my right foot, now my whole leg hurts, and I'm pretty hypersensitive to touch everywhere. Does that even make sense? I its not crippling or anything, but someone giving me a hug can leave me cringing. Now my right wrist aches with pain sometimes, and I cant lift anything with it. Is this RSD or not?? I was told once it could be fibromyalgia cuz there isnt much discoloration or temp change like there was initially. This things keeping me from feeling normal. Its depressing being a sixteen year old who cant even be bumped in the halls, let alone let loose and have fun.
I to have RSD/CRPD and know what you are going thru. Get yourself to a pain management center where you can get more help. You don't need to suffer. Also, keep moving and think positive. A good attitude will help you and moving is very important. Once you stop, your done for. But its important to see a pain mangement specialist. I know your frustration because people don't understand what we go thru. This is not a wide know illness and no one who doesn't suffer from it can understand what we go through. We need more information to be out there and this needs to be talked about more. This should also be on every single surgery consent form in every hospital in the USA. People don't know about the risk of RSD and how they too can get it. I got mine from bunion surgery but anyone can get it from anything. You can get this from just having blood work or a simply bee bite. If your uncomfortable with people touching you, open your mouth. Explain you have a condition and if they don't understand after you explain, TO BAD FOR THEM. I know how you feel. But get to a pain management center and get help, demand help! Stay moving and remember your not alone with this illness. There is help for this, you have to be patience and look for it. Good luck and remember, you are not alone.

You are travelling with a group of 12 in which 8 are in wheelchairs, the rest are leg amputees.?
5 of the one in wheelchair can't walk
3 can a little
And you find your accommdation on the 4 floor in a place with no lifts.
I would start by laughing uncontrollably for maybe 15 minutes when told where our rooms are. Because I find ridiculous situations really funny. then I would call the travel agent give them hell and get the rooms changes or go to another hotel.
I would have our baggage checked until our rooms can be fixed and take everyone to the first event on the agenda. I'm not holding up travel plans for something silly like this.
