Wheelchair Hand Grips
Can anyone tell me anything about The Wii and how it fits into a disabled lifestyle?
My dad is disabled with limited mobilty in his arms and legs. He is in a wheelchair and cannot walk more then a few paces. He also has had strokes which make working with his hands very hard. He can't grip or do anything with small items. For this reason, most of the things he used to enjoy, like doing puzzles, working on cars, and doing models, are now beyond his reach. Mostly he watches tv or reads. I was told the Wii has a lot of games for disabled people whose minds are still quite active. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is there any games people could recommend for someone in a wheelchair with limited small motor ablities?

I can't answer the question, but if you call a rehabilitation department at our local stroke center, they will be glad to answer your question. Physical Therapy practices are recommending the WII for many of their patients, and depending on their medical conditions, the recommend different games of programs. Give them a call and ask them the question you posted here, and they should help you.
