Creative idea for walking my dogs?
I tore my ACL in my knee last week (learning to ride my hubby's motorcycle) and for the next few months I cannot put any pressure on it. So it is either crutches or wheelchair for me.
Fun part is I have an APBT and Pug Mutt that need regular walks. My husbuand takes them out now, but when hes at work and I am at home I hate that I have to leave them in their crate because I cant walk them. We don't have a fenced in yard, and have a gravel driveway. Curious if anyone knows a good idea on how to walk, well "roll" them when i'm home alone? We've thought hard and havnt had any real good ideas. Hoping someone out there has more imagination than me on this
Add *** We are still in the process of breaking my APBT to not pull on the leash. So thats something I have to keep in mind
I would suggest taking them out on walks separately. In the case of your APBT, perhaps you could sit on a skateboard or something similar and let him pull you? If he's already pulling, you could just work on controlling him while he pulls.
As for your Pug, you could probably wheel on the wheel chair and have him walk beside you. If he's trained, he should be fine whether you're walking or wheeling. However, I would suggest not using crutches just in case he does take off after something.

My neighbor has gone off the deep end again?
My neighbors (in their 60s) have harrassed us since we moved here 8 yrs ago. The man has a problem with our dog (indoor mostly). He would shoot firecrackers when the dog barked until we got the cops to stop him. Then he got some zapper to point at the dog and hurt her ears. He also yells "SHADDUP" at the top of his lungs when she barks. Now they have started picking on the kids saying they are conspiring to make her bark when they arrive home. The man has given me the finger in the backyard (we now have a fence). Recently the woman barged into our home ranting and raving about the kids/dogs/playing basketball at 8 pm. Unbelivably they called the cops about the basketball and the cops said the call was frivilous. The cops have tried to reason with them with no luck. The man says he has a nervous condition exacerbated by the dog. He is now moved on to bugging the neighbor 4 houses down who is in a wheelchair (one leg) about his dog. What can I do about this other than document it?
Gosh thats a tough one. But here goes
First, you didnt mention about your spouse. Also the age of the kids, but i am guessing they are young grade school age.
Its obvious to me the elderly couple doesnt like kids or dogs, and just want to be left alone. Amazingly, it seems that even though they are older, their hearing has not been affected in any way.
With all due respect, you need to determine if your dog is barking too much. That being said, here is a suggestion.
If they continue to be mean spirited, beligerant and unkind to you, your kids and dog, you can do some of the following.
First, get a restraining order to keep them off your property. If that does not work, then take them to court, and sue them for harrassment. In an extreme case, (I am speaking seriously here), you might ask the court to declare the couple to be legally incapacitated. Your evidence is thier constant negative attitude towards you and also your neighbors.
Of course this last suggestion is extreme, but you might consider telling them that you will do it if they dont stop their complaining. Also you might tell them, (you probably already have), that this is your house, and you can legally do what you want until 10pm, including basketball.
Also mention to them if they want peace and quiet to move to the country, where there arent any kids or basketball courts or dogs. But then they would have to deal with cows and other wildlife. hehe
Well hope this has helped in some way. Take care and Good Luck
Let me know how things turn out.
