Wheelchair Door Opening
Is this bad manners regarding holding doors?
I hold doors open for anyone, regardless of gender and whether they could open it themselves. However, it gets to a point where I'd held it open for the person behind me, the woman with the buggy behind them, the old man behind her, the kid pushing his sister in a wheelchair behind the old man and just the inconsiderate people who don't take it from me that I think, "I can't hold the door open indefinitely!" and let it go.
Keep doing what you're doing. I am always thankful when someone offers me a hand in any way. I hope that you are greatly appreciated.
There's nothing wrong with continuing to hold the door open for others. I guess that it would be a bit rude if you held it for others and not those in close proximity to them. But, if they are a good enough distance away. It's okay for you to move along.
I suppose that in a perfect world, someone else would immediately pay it forward and give you a break for a while.
