Benefits of a 29er over a standard size mtb?
I found a Diamondback Overdrive 29er '07 for $500, It's a size 22, which fits me (i tested it), but what is the benefit of a 29er over a standard wheel size? Cuz I'm trying to decide between that or the trek 4500.
The big deal breaker for me is the price difference, and the big wheels on the db.
the benefit is this.
the geometry of the bike with the 29ers makes if a much more stable ride. the weight can be an issue, usually with racers, but i believe the stability is very nice. plus the bottom bracket has more clearance.
you can imitate the geometry with a standard size wheel, but it would be quite awkward

What is the standard bicycle wheel gauge?
Looking to get more information on standard bicycle wheel gauges. Somone said it ranges 13' to 16" gauge size. Are kids bikes and adult bike gauges roughly the same?
So what I mean is a bicycle wheel spoke. is there a standard size.

If you are talking about spokes 14 gage is the most common and will be the same no matter what bike it is on.
