Do all portable air conditioners have the tubes that go in the window?
I was looking for one today because my appartment for uni is extremely hot. Some people say that the portable ones all have the window tube thing. I'm looking for something that I can put anywhere, and wheel it around. So are they right? also will these be able to cool off a 700 sq ft appartment?
Thanks for all your answers, but I think there's been some confusion.
I know that there are window units, and portable A/Cs. My question is, for the portable A/Cs, do they all need to have access to a window?? (for letting air in and out or something). Or can it work like an air purifier, where it sits in the middle of the room with nothing attached, just a power plug.
I just bought one for my daughters room. I have whole house air conditioning but two rooms do not get any heat or air through the vents and the house is too old to change that. I have done a lot of research this year on this subject. Yes all portable air conditioners need to vented out a window, they need to take in air before they can cool it. They do not need to be emptied because they are mostly all self evaporating. It works like a window fan, it is about 6 inches of plastic that fits in your window and is easy to move to another window when needed. We payed only $299 for our 9,000 BTU LG portable air conditioner from Home Depot. My daughter was able to sleep for the 1st time. It works wonderfully, comes with a remote control and has a timer function to come on and to go off as needed. They have other models but the price and the customer reviews made this perfect. This is the perfect size for your 700 sq. ft. Hope this helps

Removal brake rotor for 2000 B3000 Mazda w 4 wheel drive?
This truck is probably has same brakes as Ford Ranger. I pulled off the calipers but found a spring loaded plastic device which probably engages and disengages the four wheel drive for front wheels. I'm wanted to know if the rotor can be easily removed. I've heard of portable brake lathes and wondered if I had to take it to the shop to turn the front rotors. Thanks
it's almost cheaper to just replace the rotors vs. having them machined. the spring loaded device is the locking hub.
it is easy to remove the hub however it will take a few specialty tools do do so.. you'll need to remove 2 locknuts that have a long breaker bar to do it. these locknut will have about 200+ pounds of torque on them. but once removed, the bearings will be exposed, remove the outer, the rotor will come off, then remove the inner. clean & grease them and put them back on the opposite way it came off.
there are tools to remove the locknuts, you can get them from any auto parts store. I don't know which particular one the 2000 ranger uses, it might be the 4prong, which ismore common.
