Wheel Portable Travel Traveling with portable oxygen?
My husband will be coming home in a few months after doing a 15 month deployment in Iraq and as a surprise I would like to fly his father up to see him. However my father in law uses portable oxygen, he only needs if he has to walk alot, if hes in a wheel chair or sitting he is fine. My question is will an airline allow him to travel with it? If not will amtrak? We are stationed in northen new york state and he will be flying out of Florida
he needs to tell the airline and make sure he has documentation STATING that he needs the oxygen for medical purposes. then yes he can fly with the oxygen...But call the airline you are booking a flight with BEFORE you book the flight so you don't have trouble later. each airline has different regs for the documentations needed. some don't care and some want proof.
