How can I get rid of a TERRIBLE plastic purse smell?
I got a Great Clips tote bag from eBay for a decent price, but unfortunately it reeks of an extremely strange plastic smell. It doesn't smell anything at all like most vinyl; I usually LOVE the smell of fresh plastic pencil pouches, beach balls, etc. The smell of this bag is in fact very nauseating to me. There are no tags anywhere inside or out describing the material from which it's made. How can I get RID of this stink? It's a cute bag and I don't want to throw it away after just buying it!
They make sprays that get rid of really strong smells like tobacco smoke. I would get that (from the room freshener section of the market) and spray it inside and outside the bag and then let it dry and see what happened. Be sure the lining inside dries completely. I hope it works. Good luck!! : /

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to purchase the vinyl packs/ pouches that guitar strings come in?
I have contacted several string manufacturers, but they would not reveal their sources? It seems to be some sort of industry wide secret!

They're probably refusing to tell you because they think you're trying to become a competitor. Call them with a different story.
For instance, tell them you want to sell, oh, let's say a laminated chord chart that will fit in a guitar case, and you want it to be the same size as a pack of strings so that it will fit in any case, and you want to pack it in a vinyl string envelope, both to emphasize that fact to the potential buyer and so it can hang next to the strings display in a music store and be an impulse purchase rather than having it in with the music books.
Actually that sounds like a good idea, doesn't it?
Anyway. Call one of the string manufacturers and tell them a story like that, about why you would want string envelopes for something other than selling strings, and maybe they'll tell you.
