Renting a transportable Electric Scooter?
Hi, We are going to Montreal Canada for a 4 day trip and planning to rent a transportable Electric Scooter for the length of stay for my dad. The only place that I could find was scootaround.com, but they only rent on a weekly basis which is $250 (if i pick it up and $300 if they drop it off). I was wondering if this is the cheapest or should I look into other places. Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am not talking about an electric scooter for the road. I am talking about the one which is like a wheel chair and can be loaded/unloaded from a mini van and go around the tourist place only. 
Forget electric scooters in Montreal!There are several big hills in Montreal and a 500w scooter is useless..(unless you plan to drive around on a flat K-mart parking lot all day)The drivers in Montreal or any other western civilized country today have the attention span of about a second and a half..and will mow you down,beep their horn,shout insults at you...not a pleasant way to ruin a nice trip to Montreal..I would suggest taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through and around Montreal..unless of course,Pierre, your driver has been feeding Rusty (the horse) Beefarino all week!If this is the case,stop by the army/navy store and purchase some gas masks for you and your traveling companions.

guitar question?
i am pretty decent at guitar..i had a really crappy acoustic nylon stringed guitar..then i got an ibanez electric, i would like to get a steelstringed acoustic..i know acoustic guitars for the most part cost less than electric. I would like suggestions on brands and models. i would like a pretty decent guitar for as little as possible..(any more than a few hundred dollars is too much)- so if u know of a good cheap guitar that would be great
Also my friend has an acoustic that has like a volume and treble (i beleive) dial on the side of it... i dont really know much about these... are they good quality and if so are thjey very expensive
and lastly ive noticed some acoustic guitars are like rounded off on the edges- i cant really explian this but i m hoping u know what im talknig about by this...like instead of the boxy look they have a much slimemr profile and are rounded off... are these guitars good quality and if so are they cheap..because these seem much more transportable
The rounded off ones that I know of are Ovation, and this changes the sound of the guitar. You'd have to go to a music store and try them out to see which you prefer.
As for acoustic, if you're planning to upgrade then I suggest getting a guitar that will last you a while. Acoustics aren't necessarily cheaper than electrics especially when you get into some of the higher end hand-crafted guitars.
I suggest something by Takamine, Ovation, Martin, Taylor, etc. Someone who specializes in acoustics.
I have a Taylor (a cheaper one that ran about $400), and it sounds amazing in comparison to some of the competing models. Do not buy an Ibanez acoustic -- I've heard this from more than a few people and I tend to agree.
Don't get me wrong, I own two Ibanez electrics including a hollowbody and I love them -- the tones are great and very dynamic. The guitars are well built and worth the cash.
But Ibanez doesn't specialize in acoustic, they produce multiple types of instruments, and as a result the effort put into the acoustics is below par, tonally speaking. They look cool with innovative design, but this may just be a way to make up for the so-so sound quality. I would shy from the company to this end...
The knobs for volume you are talking about are part of an acoustic/electric set up. It doesn't effect the quality of the instrument, per say, but it'll cost you and I've never found a purpose in getting one (any place you play will have mics for your guitar, or else you can get a pickup for cheap).
Good luck. I'm not trying to put you into debt (like I am 
) but if you're going to upgrade I'd say do some research and go for the specialty companies like Taylor. Everything from design to wood is going to be better in the end.
