Threshold Wheel Chair
Pain after Essure procedure?
I had the Essure procedure done Tuesday. The doctor gave me halcion to make my uterus relax and knock me out. Half way through the procedure, I woke up and felt everything. After it was done, I laid on the table in a fetal position shaking and crying from the pain. I was supposed to walk out a half an hour later, it took me two hours to be able to get into a wheel chair to be driven home. I was also very nauseated and ended up throwing up in the car. I'm still in a horrible amount of pain and am taking percocets to help. It gets especially bad if I try to over do it. I have 3 kids and a pretty high pain threshold. Now I'm on percocets and phennergan (for nausea) as well as the ibuprofen. Has anyone else experienced this or know why I feel this way? My doctor said everything went according to plan.
Yes. All the symptoms mentioned by your are more or less will be there after the Essure Procedure is done. The following are the side effects or risks associated with Essure Proceedure. -
-Perforation, expulsion, or other unsatisfactory location of the micro-insert
-Pregnancy and increased risk of ectopic pregnancy
-Pain, cramping, vaginal bleeding, menstrual pattern changes, light periods at first then longer, heavier periods lasting up to 6–8 weeks.
-Nausea/vomiting, or fainting
-Vasovagal response
-Allergic reaction to the materials
It is hardly two days have passed and all these problems will go away in due course and you will be alright. Please take some rest and have the diet and medicines as advised by your doctor.
Here are the warnings given to the patients having essure proceedure. I am giving them just for your information -
-The procedure takes about 35 minutes for a trained physician to perform and can be performed in a physician's office.
-General anesthesia is not required.
-Unlike many temporary methods of birth control, the Essure micro-inserts do not contain or release hormones.
-The micro-inserts are made from polyester fibers, nickel-titanium and stainless steel and are safe to use with MRI equipment.
-There is no data on reversing Essure and any attempt would require major surgery and likely be unsuccessful. -
-Additional birth control must be used for 3 months after procedure.
