How do i fit a drum set in my house?
Heyall! I've been at the drums for about 6 months now, and my teacher reckons i have potential at it and would improve much more if i had an actual set to practice on!
But the problem is there is not space in my house. Is it possible to cut off the drawers which are stuck on my wall to create more space in my room? If so, is it expensive to do so?
Or is there a storage bag of some sort which i could keep my drum set in when i'm not using it? So it would not take up so much space.
Or is it possible to move the sofas in the living room to create space for the drum set? Would it be a bad idea because it will disturb everybody?
Thanks for the help! I'll do all I can to get a drum set or get one to practise somewhere......... KUDOS!
That's a tough call. I know, because, I played drums, years ago, and practice space was limited. I had to use a spare bedroom that was for storage. One suggestion is to put practice pads on the drum heads, so as to block out most of the noise, and not disturb others.

Amtrak Station through Chicago security?
I am working on buying my father Amtrak tickets to come out and visit. However the train he would take has a 4 hour layover in Chicago, the whole trip being 14 hours for Amtrak.. My question is how tight is security at the Chicago hub? Do they check your carry on bags? Checking the big storage bags is no problem, hes just planning on bringing along a rat that could fit into a small bag, would this be checked?
People have pets.. Whats the difference between a rat and a hamster? Either way i did not ask about peoples idea of pets and rodents, I asked if the Chicago hub will check carry on bags
There are rules for what is and isn't permitted as carry-on luggage, and you should obey those rules. Unless there's a reason to suspect that your dad has something not permitted with him, it's unlikely he will be checked. However, both in the station and on the train they do reserve the right to check anything you have with you.
