I have an Acura, TSX and my mechanic tells me I need four new tires. The problem is - I know NOTHING about tires! I need something with solid performance but budget is an issue. All I know is that I need 215/50/17. I've looked at several sites online but I just don't understand the wide differences in prices and performance. Anything over $125-$150 per tire is out of the question. I'd appreciate any advice you could offer!

Great car. You aren't going to fine a decent tire in that size for much less than 125 a tire. If you aren't overly concerned with performance (hard cornering, etc) go with what has the longest tread life. Stick to the OEM size though that you have listed. BFGoodrich makes a good tire at a resonable price. That's kind of a middle of the road line.
