Small Wheel Wheelchairs
Wheelchair help please!?
We are buying my mum her first wheelchair and im trying to get some information on how to decide what is the best to get for her. It will be for occassional use but when we do use it it will be for a few hours at a time (for shopping, when we go on holiday, not for general use around home). There will always be someone pushing her as she will not be able to do this for herself. What are the things I need to look for? I tried looking online but there seems to be too much information and I dont know where to start! And I know this is a weird question but do the size of the wheels matter? Some I have seen have very small rear wheels (when the chair is just for being pushed by someone) but is this as aeffective at spreading the weight? And do I need to check on a maximum weight the chair can take? My mum is 11stone, she has Emphysema. Any help please?
Chairs come in all different sizes. Find a regular chair your mom feels comfortable in and measure the depth of the chair. Also measure the width. Then look for a chair that has a seat that size.
Plastic. vinyl seats are good if a person is incontinent and won't be in it for a very long time - otherwise be sure it will be something comfortable to sit on for along time. You can add pillows.
The little wheels stabilize it so it won't tip backwards.
If the chair is going to be mostly pushed- be sure the handles are a comfortable height for the people most like likely to push her to push.
If you are going to be putting it in the boot of your car - be sure it is an easy chair to close down and that it locks well when open. Make sure it fits in your boot.
Big wheels make it easier to push.

Adjusting the legs of the Small Dog Wheelchair
this girl was in a wheelchair and her mom had the worse attitude was it my fault or hers?
I was shopping with my younger sister at aeropostale, I don't know about the stores near you but the one by us is very small and crowded. After i bought my sister the shirt we wanted we of course had to leave the store there was this small way out and there was a girl in a wheelchair with her mom..we had to leave. So my sister and I did NOT touch the wheel chair we just touched the mom by accident she got angry! and started to make this huge scene we felt embarrassed, she started to say "oooh lets all just be rude it's not like we have a girl in a wheelchair over here, let's just push and shove" so i apologized to her and told her "sorry we didn't mean to bump into you" and she just didn't want to hear it.
I regret apologizing to her she didn't deserve it what made me mad was the fact she was taking advantage her daughter that was in a wheelchair. Yes we accidentally bumped into the mom but not her daughter why is she bringing her into this converstaion....
don't worry about it, she's just looking for a pity party.
