I just got a citation today for driving with a child on lap on the front seat.?
I don't mind paying the fine but i want my driving record to stay clean. Is there anyway that can happen ? Also, the court date is in NOv. Do i have to go to it if i am going to pay the fine ? will it help in keeping my record clean ?

I have a 1988 Dodge Caravan that has only lap belts in the back seats, and a carseat that uses 5-point harness until 40 lbs, then uses shoulder/lap belt combo to secure child. Suggestions?
The Graco Nautilus is what you'll need until other companies step up an make something similar. It has a 5-point harness system for children up to 65 pounds.
They're sold online and at Target, Walmart, Babies R Us and other stores. There are various fabrics, but I've heard that Mariposa, Matrix and Galaxy are NOT what you want because the fabric may snag- I don't know this by experiece though.
