recommend scooter/small engine motorcycle?
i am 17, 159 lbs, 5'10" and own a 2000 jeep grand cherokee. It averages 12 mpg. I love this car and its great for riding around with friends and longer trips such as my 10 mile drive to work. I would like a scooter for around the block commuting and solo errands to save fuel consumption. My budget is $500-$1200, requirements are comfortable for my height, top speed of 50+ mph and an avg speed of 30-40 mph or a motorcycle (no pocket bikes, ninja or katana are future goals not for now) with a top speed of 65 mph and avg of 40 mph. new or used is not of a big issue and licensure is of no object.

very low miles, just past break in for the engine. it might have been sitting awhile, may need a service. you should feel free to ask for maintenance receipts when buying used, and have the scooter checked out by a scooter / cycle mechanic. however all things being equal, i am only posting top quality scooters which meet your MPH requirements and price range
hmm, ok. in ALL of NYC that is all i found i could recommend in your price range and with your MPH requirements. however, if you are willing to go older and don't mind being seeing on these next ones, they may seem OLD, but think about it? a scooter lasting THIS long? these scooters will run forever, parts are cheap, they are easy to work on, and they are fun to ride. i think they're pretty funky and cool, myself

and this is a beater for $700. i would offer $600 because of 16,000 miles and no battery. it comes with two helmets, a good chain and lock, and a cover. if it was taken care of, it should run for thousands of more miles. say, up to 30,000 or more. easy to work on, cheap to fix. but the other Vino i posted first for $1100 would seem the better buy

ok, so i hope this helps you a bit. just want to keep people away from the Chinese scooters that will cost $800 or $1000 NEW, but will break down in months and not be fixed, but thrown away. you could get one if you like, but buyer beware is all i can say
personally if the blue Vino is in good condition and well maintained, i would snatch it up. looks like the guy wanted to trade for a motorcycle, but went ahead and got one and now just wants to unload the scooter. its a cool scoot =]
