Scooter Barely Used
Scooter having acceleration problems?
I have a 150cc scooter that used to go up to 55, now it's barely going 30. If I'm on a flat street it can go up to 55, but uphill it just dies and goes like 20. I'm putting the throttle all the way down and it's not going any faster. I went to a shop and got a tune up, but it didn't help, so it can't be any of the filters or oil.
It only started to do this about a month ago. Any idea what might be going on?
How do you check the carb?
check your carb. sounds like its not getting enough fuel. also check your tire pressure.

i've lost power on a 125 scooter.?
a few weeks ago my scooter wouldn't start, i got it going again but now the top speed is barely 30mph, and it doesnt accelerate like it used to.
any suggestions?
Try changing the spark plug, if that doesn't help then I suggest taking the air filter off and seeing if the air filter might be clogged. When you ride it, does it get up to 30 mph slowly, or does it get to 30 quickly but runs out of power? If it does it slowly, then the problem might be the carburetor, it may need cleaning and tuning. If it stops at 30 then the problem may be either the ignition or the carb, check to make sure that the carb slide opens fully first. If it does then the ignition system may be the culprit.
