Mothers who use baby Carriers?
I need some ideas on some good carriers. I bought a cheap Infantino Cozy Rider, about a month and a half ago, just to see if my daughter would like it. She hated it up until yesterday, because she didn't like facing in, but now has enough control over her head, to face forward, and seems to like being in one. I hate the one I have! It's a pain to get her in and out, and pulls on my shoulders, making my back sore. It is also hard to adjust, and the front goes up slightly too high, but I think that's because my daughters a little short. So what one do you use, and would you recommend it? Also my daughters only 3.5 months old, and still only stays awake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Does your baby sleep in the carrier, or do you transfer to a stroller?
I'm the opposite, I broke my neck in August of 2006, so I think I'd rather the back soreness, but I do appreciate your input!
I have a "hotsling", a "new native carrier", a "baby bjyorn" and the "infantino sling rider" and an "infantino side rider"... here's what i have to say about them
the hotsling... i like the best. my son is 5 months old and i use it to carry him on my hip. when he was smaller (he's 24 lbs now) i used the other carries more, I can still use it to put him to sleep and nurse him while chasing after (well not running, but able to move while nursing) a 2 and 3 year old.
the new native carrier... mine never fit right, when he was little, but now i can still use it for the hip carry. i like the strechiness of the hotsling better.
baby bjoirn... i assume is similar to your snugli but it hurts my back too much except for when he was like 12 lbs. my son got too heavy to ever really wear facing forwards comfortably, but i could see it being great for a lighter child.
infantino sling rider... worked well for when he was under 18 lbs and sleeping, he never liked it awake
infantino side rider... I absolutely love this. I got mine on clearance at target for $7, and it's my favorite for my son right now. (he's 5 months, and 24 lbs). i wish i had this when my son was 3 months old.
Now the type of carrier, i have looked into (and the only one i registered for at my shower) was a mei tai carrier... which i think i would have like best, and still might pick it up. I'm looking at the cheap parents of invention one to put my son on my back, if i don't find a good framed backpack reasonably.

As for the transfering, my son was always to heavy to carry for more than 2 hours, so he always went into the car seat or stroller while out to save my back.

Ghost rider - what do you think of parents who bring very small children to this show?
We went to a 10pm showing of ghost rider last night, and there were about 9 or 10 little kids there, from about seven or eight down to a baby in a stroller! This show has scary death scenes, demonic stuff, scenes that freaked me out, and I'm 33! It's bad enough to get a night out from your crying baby to go to a theater with another one, let alone a 10 pm show, but I can't believe the irresponsibilty of these parents! one of the kids was screaming and crying a couple times, and the parents didn't even seem to care! I'm sure they were traumatized...Am I missing something here? what are your feelings about this? And what would you do if you were there?
ps here it is rated 14 adult, meaning nobody under 14 allowed!
I think its messed up. They probly didnt have a babysitter, so they just took them. I would never take young kids to a movie like that. My son is 14 and he just got home from that movie, and he agreed with you. Those kids shouldnt have been there.*
