In an undefined relationship with a man who never pays for me?
I've been dating this guy for 5 months, and although we both claimed it was casual at the onset, we're basically now in a relationship (we've been monogamous since we met, go on trips together, spend every weekend together, etc). Since it was never officially defined, we've never had typical dates- even during what is typically the "wooing" period. He's a nice guy and I wonder if he simply just never thinks about it, because he grew up without a father and is used to a woman (his mother) being self-reliant. Plus, he's leaving his full-time job to go back to grad. school, so I know he's watching his wallet. I don't mind for the most part, but wish he would take me out every once in a while as a special thing. Do you think I'm out of line here? Looking for some men to reply, to get some perspective, especially because the last time we had dinner, he asked me for $2 that I owed him when we were settling the check- I mean, come on, TWO DOLLARS? Is he a "modern" man or just plain cheap!?

There is nothing wrong with that. But then again, U have to be somewhat considerate to the fact that he is about to attend school so he is trying to maintain his money..
