Rehab after torn rotator cuff surgery(right shoulder)?
What I can and should expect? I am in my sixth week of therapy. My range of motion has decreased about 5 numbers(on the 90 degree range). I'm still in constant pain. I don't sleep more than 2 hours at a time( 2 1/2 hours if I'm really lucky). I still sleep in a recliner. My target due date to return to work is Oct 19th. I have read several posts where people have suggested that I should have progressed way better and further than I have. Any suggestions as to what I can do in terms of my physical therapy expectations and actually talking with my surgeon?
Any time there is a decline in motion, I'd be concern (although 5 degrees can be considered not significant and explained by chance error anyway).
Yes, you should be above 90 degrees by now...unless you weren't started on PT for 8 weeks.
However, I'd expect your pain to be much better controlled. I would definetely discuss with your surgeon...it could be you need better pain control, or that you are developing excessive scar tissue.
