Reclining Back Rest
Okay pet hates here but do you hate economy class flights?
when it is already a crunched up seating area and the person in front insists on reclining his seat back rest all the way so to infringe on your own already tight personal space?
asseenfromoutside that's fine if you are wealthy or if you want to just hop a couple of hundred miles. But the majority have to suffer thousands of ocean miles of travel.
Some airlines make economy class more tolerable than others, which can make a big difference when flying long haul flights. There probably is nothing worse than when the person sitting in front of you fully reclines their seat the minute the seat belt sign goes off, and no airline that I've been on offers more than barely adequate space in economy class.
The airline I fly the most, Cathay Pacific, uses a shell design seat in economy class where the seat reclines within the shell, which means no more seat backs in your space. The seats recline a little less, but I prefer not having a seat back shoved in my space to the way the older seats were. Along with their good food, great audio/ visual on demand in-flight entertainment and excellent service, Cathay's economy class flights are much more tolerable than some other airlines I've flown with.
If you've ever flown business or first class, it makes economy class even worse, but it's just not worth the extra $4000-5,000 it costs to fly business class on long haul flights. I think all you can expect when flying economy class is an airline that makes the flight more bearable.

Recliner Chair Repair?
We purchased 2 Lane Furniture leather recliner/rocking chairs. They are a little more than a year old and out of warranty, but one of them seems to have a problem that I was wondering how much it would be to fix. In the normal seating position, not reclined and foot rest in, as soon as you sit in the chair it immediately begins to recline without ever touching the lever on the side. Even if you push the lever back down, if the weight of a person is on the chair, it tries to recline. I compared the workings of the mechanical parts to the chair that works fine. I found that the bar that runs from the left side to the right side, and the spring attaches to, is rotating a lot farther back than the other one. The bracket that the spring rotates on seems to be binding up with another bracket as well. The chair still works fine, as long as you always recline. If anyone knows how to fix this, any websites that would help, or good repair shops in Los Angeles that would be great.

Two leather recliners sounds like a fair investment!! Even if they are a little out of warranty, I think I would still go back to the dealer or manufacturer and question the quality of the chairs.......they shouldn't require repairs that quickly, regardless of warranty restrictions!
At very least, they may be able to give you some tips on repairing the chair yourself.
