Any time I run any sort of electric motor around my TV, it makes static lines appear on the screen?
A strange thing happens any time any sort of electric motor is run near my TV. For instance, our powered recliner. Every time I flip the switch to recline it, static lines instantaneously appear on the TV screen (if it is on). Then, the moment I stop running the motor, the static lines instantly disappear.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
It's called a power spike and it's caused by the devices that control electric motors. It's generally too small to do any damage so i wouldn't worry about it!
Also...it could be noise caused by electric motors! This isn't damaging either.
Make sure your TV and other sensitive electrical equipment is plugged into a good surge protector or line conditioner. This will guarantee the safety of your equipment from larger power surges or spikes!
