Creating a cozy space with a long rectangular room?
I have a older mobile home with a long rectangle living room. I make half of it our Tv area with the couch and recliner, but that leaves a big empty wasted half of room. I would like to put a divider wall up someday, but for now I need some ideas to how to fill it up. I don't want two living rooms in the same room...
Divide it temporarily now with a big bookcase. Fill it with books and pretty things and on the other side put a cozy chair, lamp and table and plants or a fake tree (adorned with mini white lights) to make a separate "sitting room"
If you don't like the idea of a bookcase, use a trifold screen with a beautiful scene painted on it.
If your kitchen is small, you can use this area as an eating area with a small bistro table and tall stools.

How do I get my baby to sleep on her own?
I have a beautiful 6 week old daughter. The problem is, she won't sleep on her own. The ped says she may have a mild case of colic. It usually starts around the 7:30-8:00 hour, but is inconsistent. The screaming is loud, but the biggest problem is she needs to consistently be held when she sleeps. The ped says to put her down and let her cry, but touch her/pick her up if necessary after 15 minutes. This goes on all night and after 3 hours or so, I get to the point where I just pick her up and sleep with her on the recliner so I can get some sleep. Any suggestions? we already have a 3-in-1 vibrating machine on her mattress and a fish scene mobile to help...anything else?
She also has begun spitting up a lot, even breastmilk. HELP!
I've got the perfect answer for babies with colic. Don't listen to your pediatrician about letting her cry. She is hurting. Colic is a horrible experience for a baby to go through and hard on mom and dad's nerves. If you are only feeding breastmilk, great. Check out the Amby Baby Hammock.
