Ramp Handrails
I need to find out where I can look to find info. on where to place grab bars in bathrooms and ramps.?
I am trying to help my father who works for a company in Texas, and one of his customers needs handrails in the bathroom and handrails for the ramp for a wheelchairs or walkers.

In Australia is there 'building requirements' that have to be met for 'Access to & use of building' or similar?
In England we have something called building standards that have to be met so that all health and safety requirements are met once built (which I’m sure Australia has). These are divided up into different sections so that it is easy to define what is looking for.
the one that relates to my question is the Approved Document M (2004 - latest edition) which refers to 'Access to and use buildings'. The document basically describes the minimum safety requirements of things like disabled ramps, steps to a building entrance and handrails.
My question is: are their similar building requirements to what I have described above in the Australia? and if so will it be possible for you to refer me to a web site please.
