The band plays pregame and halftime shows for all home games of the UL football team, the Louisianas Ragin Cajuns. The Pride of Acadiana performs a pregame show before the games. The band will start behind the student section of Cajun Field, marching around three sides of the stadium until it gets to the main entrance. There it will perform a pep rally with the help of the cheerleaders. Itll then start playing Do What Ya Wanna as it turns and heads into the stadium. Once inside, itll hold the Hillside Pep Rally on the hill above the tunnel entrance to the field. im all for equality i think that everyone should be respected for their decision. i just dont get why whenever theres a gay pride rally going on every person on those floats dress horribly. i mean its not even appropriate to dress like that because they know that kids are around. people can be gay and proud of it while wearing appropriate clothes. so why do they ave to dress like that?
Get over it, those rallies and parades are for us and our community. It took literally decades for the news media to even mention them. Now they can't shut up about the most extreme people who participate.
It's like our Mardi Gras, our chance to be outrageous. No one is making you participate or watch. We are celebrating our history (Stonewall - look it up) and our diversity. Don't like it, don't go!
I can't believe that people are saying its disrespectful to kids. It's not FOR kids. And maybe kids seeing people behaving differently and dressing differently will grow up less narrow-minded about other people and have fewer expectations that other people should change their behavior so as not to offend their delicate sensibilities. Guess what. It doesn't upset the kids, it makes them ask questions YOU don't want to ANSWER. That's a GOOD THING!
I don't do to a pride festival to worry about what some kid will think or whether some parent will be asked an uncomfortable question. I hope the kids DO ask a question that makes you have to give voice to your prejudices and thereby question them. Maybe you'll realize that your are more of a hypocrite than you think when it comes to true equality for all.
