Patient Transport
Does a nursing home have the right to refuse excepting a patient because they need dialysis?
I have offered to transport my grandma to and from her appointment and whats strange is the nursing home already has a patient they take to and from dialysis so I'm not sure how they can tell me that they only except one patient with that need at a time when I know for a fact they have had more then one dialysis patient at a time.
Did they specifically tell you it was because of dialysis? Is there another problem you can think of that may make them not be able to meet her/your needs, such as extreme obesity, serious behavior problems, previously threatened lawsuits, or family issues (feuding family members, drunk family members, etc)? If not, then they should be able to take her and I would ask about the other patients with dialysis. Most nursing homes love dialysis patients; they get paid more for them.

The patient must go to x-ray in a wheel chair...what all do I need to transport this patient
O2 tank and make sure you bring the nasal cannula with you. Be sure to check the levels in the tank before you grab it and know how to turn it on before you go into the room.
