the proper way to lay shingles on a barn style roof on a shed?
the details on the pack are pretty vague...i need to know the proper way to lay shingles on a 10x10x10 barn style roof on a storage shed. this was not cheap and the rest of it is built. i have the shingles and the paper to lay under, i need a detailed instruction or a link with a diagram to help please. experience would be great. no answers please to just put them up and nail them down. i also have 7/8 roofing nails suggested i bought from lowes...thanks i appreciate any help on this.

Also, you didn't mention what size your sheathing was.
7/8" nails might be too long.
You might just go through to the other side with what we call "shiners."
You don't want shiners.

How much is too much to pack for college?
I'm going to be a freshman, living in a suite style dorm (which means my roommates and I share a kitchen, bathroom and common area) and I feel like I have a lot of boxes...what is the normal amount of things students bring with them? How many boxes(or storage bins) do they have?
What's in the boxes? The college housing office should be able to tell you how much drawer, shelf and closet space will be your own. If the college does not provide kitchen equipment, try to contact your roommates and arrange who will bring what. You can always get by for one semester with less than you would like. You can do laundry more often or buy some "in" garb at stores on or near campus. It's better to have too little than too much. It also only costs about a dollar a pound for your family to send you items by United Parcel Service ground delivery, which only takes a week in the 48 states.
