How to get a one year old dog used to gun shots and being off leash so I can take it hunting?
Adopted a one year old dog from the pound to replace my last dog, which ran away in the wilderness when I took it hunting. How can I train this new dog to be used to gunshots and to not run away?
The dog is a German Shepherd if that matters. The exact age is between 1 and 1.5 years old if that matters. The dog is very friendly, but may have been abused by its former owners as it gets really afraid if someone around it gets upset.

What are some easy ways to entertain a four year old and a one year old?
What are some easy ways to baby sit a four year old and a one year old? I can't drive yet, and we'll be at their house from about 7 in the morning to about one in the afternoon. How can I keep them entertained?
Set up the card table and throw some blankets over it. Make it their fort. Put pillows in it and blankets. Take them out to the back yard for an early lunch picnic. If you play with them they will love you for it. Just give them your attention.

Dunno, man. I wouldn't be too impressed with my mother or mother-in-law over a haircut, but then I also wouldn't leave a toddler with them overnight — and if I was into that level of separation from the parents at that young an age, and getting free overnight sitting, I think I might STFU a bit.
Especially since most of this involves kind and generous spoiling. You want the kid in diapers? Put the kid in diapers, put the underwear in a drawer. That's pretty petty, to get worked up about that.
A 2yo having sleepovers implies a pretty extensive level of care by Grandma, and if the kid and Grandma are really tight and he doesn't mind being away from home like that, that's cool — but, if the kid and Grandma are that tight? You don't really get to raise a stink when she goes out and buys a bit of furniture or whatever. If Grandma is a regular free sitter, the extent to which you are allowed to dictate things is minimized. Either you trust her to do a good job, which means you ignore the stuff you might have done differently — or you do not, in which case, find paid child care. To large extent you can't really dictate the terms on which she grandparents.
Was the bed for use _at Grandma's house_? If yes, you are _way_ out of line.
