Should you hear the compressor come on, on an older central air unit?
I have an older mobile home central air unit that the fan comes on and it does blow air in the house but not cold. The thermostat is set on cool and is on position. Should I hear the compressor kick on as I don't hear anything other than the fan running??? Thanks
Turn the thermostat to not call for cooling. -go stand next to the unit. Have someone inside turn the thermostat to call for cooling,... you should hear a pronounced "CLACK!". that is the contactor. At that moment you should hear what sounds like pissed off bumble bee. If you don't then there is some reason the compressor is not being energized or it is a goner.... Take an amp reading on the compressor common. If it reads anywhere over 15 amps, replace the compressor.

How to make a snake terrarium from on old entertainment unit?
We have a ball python and want to make a custom terrarium. We have an old entertainment unit that has no back or front. we want to know the best ways to design it, and what materials to use. We were thinking plexiglass for the front, the back we will probably just use wood. What would the best way to set up the cage for easy access to our snake and cleaning, without risking no feet escaping? Any assistance would be great thanks!

It sounds like quite the project. Make sure to use materials that will not absorb water, as the inside of the enclosure will need to be very humid. If you are sticking with wood, you will need to seal it with a non-toxic sealer. Also, make sure that whatever access design you go with, that it can lock.
