Never Used Scooters
A question for the ladies?
Which of the following kind of guy do you prefer, in terms of style, attitude and motorbike preference? I have gone for two complete opposites here, so forgive me if they read like stereotypes!
Type A:
The "metrosexual man" - uses "male beauty products", wears "trendy" clothes (skinny-fit sleeveless pullovers, distressed jeans, leather loafers, etc), has a "trendy" hair-cut (probably quite long, a bit spikey), rides a Vespa or a Piaggio, or some other kind of scooter monstrosity.
Type B:
Wears Levi 501s, boots or trainers, black leather jacket, hair is a grade two buzz-cut all over, has never used a "male beauty product" in his life, rides a big/middleweight V-Twin (e.g. SV650, CBR600) and eats scooters for breakfast ;o)
*Type B has a grade two buzz-cut all over - that means very short, military style (not slicked back!).

How is a Genuine Buddy scooter work for trips in Chicago?
I am moving to Chicago in a few weeks and was thinking of getting a Genuine Buddy 125cc for intercity trips in nice weather. I have never owned a scooter before so I would take classes and get a type L license.
Has/does anyone use(d) a scooter in the city? Did it work out? Why or why not?

Does anyone have a Genuine Buddy 125cc? Do you like it? Why or why not?
I love my Buddy 125! I work at home, so don't use it to commute daily, but as long as you don't have to go on the highway it should be fine. I would not recommend the Buddy 125 if you are over 200 pounds (based on seeing my husband attempt to ride mine). I like the style, the way it handles, and the storage space. I have a topcase on mine. The review on JustGottaScoot is what led me to the Genuine dealer to look at the Buddy. You should read it. There are so many Buddy lovers, there is a web site just for us, www.modernbuddy.com, where you can get tons of advice and chat with other Buddy owners. One more thing - make sure you get a good lock or alarm system so your scooter doesn't get stolen.
