Does this sound like a good deal ?!?!?!?
Does this sound like a good deal?, And am i mad for not taking it out ?
Well i bought a 2006 Ford focus 1.6 with 20'000 on the clock 3days ago, I got it from a ford dealer and had the chance to take out a 1 year warranty for £300 or 2 years for £400
The warranty covered : Alternator, Brakes (including ABS), Clutch, Cooling system, Electrics, Engine, Final drive, Fuel system, Gearbox, Propshaft, Shock Absorbers, Started motor, Steering, Suspension and wheel bearings + more, there was no limit on the amount of claims you could make, I thaught about it for a while and decided not to, but now it is starting to eat away at me for not taking it out
The main reason i didnt take it out is that its in excellent condition and just passed a mot with nothing needing doing and no advisories
i'd say your new ford will be ok provided you service it regularly

It is more of collectors item...
Such cars are used during nice dry days and driven to classic car gatherings... If goes 60mph that's enough, often not exceeding 55mph, it is more for cruising during sunny days... Not really a car every day use... But it looks great for such an old car and reasonable amount of kilometers. Price ain't bad for such a neat classic...
So, it is bit like being retro with the original item...
Unless you drive rally, it could satisfy most basic need to move from point A to point B
But if you look for "high performance" from same era, the Lotus Cortina could be the answer for that...
How long will last depends how you will take care of it...
But has to admit, that old Anglia appears to be really nice condition classic car...
