Are medicare funded mobility scooter gangs a problem where you live? They are a holy terror on bingo nights.?
Would that was the only night. It's every day here! In the community that I just moved into, 55+ active retired, at 4:15 PM the streets are jammed. What with the mobility scooters and golf buggies jockeying for position to get first in line for the Early-bird Special at the nearest buffet, between 4:00 PM and 5:30PM, I have to hide in my house. These people may be old, but they're packing heat. Ya ever seen a golf cart with a gun rack? Or a mobility scooter with a rifle holster? Standard equipment around here.
I tell ya, it can get pretty bad. Just last week Mrs. Levine had her scooter shot out in a drive-by by Mr Kowalski. He tried to make a fast escape but since his batteries were so low, we were able to walk up to him and retrieve his weapon.
And you don't even want to be around on casino night.

I see that the criterion to be reimbursed for a scooter is that it is needed in the home. I live in a high rise small apartment. It is section 8 for seniors building. I can walk inside my unit. I cant get downstairs to the mailbox, the laundry, the library, or the room where we pick up free bread and federal groceries given once a month. How can I qualify?
What is needed is your doctor has to say you need one to get around and that you need it to get around your home.
And you do, the apartment complex is your home, and the laundry and mail is part of it.
