Battery Chargers?

Battery Chargers: What is the difference between a gel pack battery charger and an acid battery charger.
I'm asking because I have a mobility scooter When I charge the batteries with with my charger supplied with the scooter The batteries don't seem to last as long.
I bought two acid batteries but they seem to be struggling,
is there any difference between acid and gel pack batteries

-Gel pack batteries are ment to be maintainece free.
- the are usually also less susceptable to leaks and are preferred for unstable environments

-Acid batteries sometime require you to add water or battery acid.
-Prone to leaking if used in rocky conditions
