Lightweight Transport Medical Is there anyone else over 60 who uses a backpack to carry their stuff comfortably?
I do, but someone just remarked that backpacks are a 'student thing' or when hiking in the hills and that I should use something more appropriate for my age. Now I'm feeling a bit self conscious.
I don't have a car or use public transport, so I walk and find a backpack a sensible way to carry things. I don't have to keep changing hands, or have bags keep falling off my shoulders. I use it to carry water, something to eat, medical paraphernalia, a waterproof plus any other bits and pieces depending on where or what, and any lightweight shopping home.
Do you think I should be proud to be different or a little eccentric and carry on regardless?
BTW my backpack is a frameless one, I think it may be known as a day bag.
You go girl! I am 65 & don't own a vehicle any more due to cost of insurance. Bought a cool dirt bike with a lot of shocks on it from Walmart, My backpack is like yours-no frame. I added a flat frame carrier over back wheel and when stuff gets too heavy I bungee pack & other stuff there, Even have a drink holder on bike. I live in a small central FL town & you can imagine the flack I got when I first started riding it. I told folks to more or less get a life and been pedaling ever since.
In case you haven't noticed: We ALL are different and that is a good thing. Don't worry about what folks are saying about you, at least they are leaving someone else alone.
