A dentist's chair with a patient in it weighs 1820 N. The output plunger of a hydraulic system begins to lift the chair when the dentist's foot applies a force of 63 N to the input piston. Neglect any height difference between the plunger and the piston. What is the ratio of the radius of the plunger to the radius of the piston?
The key to this is that the pressures are the same.. In other words F1/A1 = F2/A2 where 2 represents the plunger So F1/(pi*r1^2) = F2/(pi*r2^2) Therefore r2/r1 = sqrt(F2/F1) = sqrt (1820/63) = 5.37

I need info on medicare reimbursement for a lift chair for my 85 y/o father.?
How do I go about applying for reimbursement for a lift chair for my father? He has had a stroke & has trouble standing up from a sitting position.
His doctor has to prescribe it and you get that from a medical equipment supplier. If they accept Medicare, you pay a percentage and they bill the rest to Medicare.

Good luck with the dating scene. And, good luck pursuing your complaint with the 911 system. I agree, that woman should have been more tactful and less judgmental. She wasn’t where you were so it wasn’t her place to judge whether it was realistic to expect someone to actually come by, much less come by and then help.I take it the guy not only was strong enough to lift the chair but actually understood HOW to lift it safely? I’ve heard scary stories about dangerous approaches people have taken to lifting chairs because they don’t understand how to do it correctly, especially when a person is seated. So it was great that guy was around on more than one level — not just that he was prepared to help (and strong enough!) but also understood how to do it. And I like how he recognized the real source of the problem (lousy curb cut, NOT a ditzy, lazy wheelchair user like that 911 lady seemed to think).
