Pros and Cons of BACK BRACES?

I am doing a college research project on medical devices designed for backs. This includes back braces, back supports, posture supports, and any other related products. The products could be used for spinal fractures, posture correction, vertebrae defects, heavy lifting, or anything else. For my research, I want to find out in what ways people like or dislike the back braces that they are using.

-----------
If you used or are using a brace for your back, what are the pros and cons of it?
-----------

* This could include comfort, price, effectiveness, ease of use, and reliability.
* Please include a description of the product you are commenting on or a picture of it.
* If you haven't used a back brace, but know about them, please give your insight.

Thank you so much for your help!

I have back issues before such as lower back pain but never need to use a back braces. In minor cases, exercise can be done to correct the posture. Yoga and Pilates are just among of few exercise that can correct a bad posture.

Chiropractic can also help in correcting posture specially if int involves the spinal cord. For lower back pain, braces that usually are made of neoprene is called Lumbar braces. This kind of braces is also use by sport enthusiasts.

The Pros of Using a Back Brace

1. Helpful for spine stabilization.

2. Support back after an injury.

3. Improve the posture

The Cons of Using a Back Brace

1. May result to atrophy of some of the muscles from lack of use.

2. Muscle weaken due to long use of back brace.

Medical Device Technologies

Medical Device Technologies

$119.95

The goal of this textbook is to provide undergraduate engineering students with an introduction to commonly manufactured medical devices. It is the first textbook that discusses both electrical and mechanical medical devices. The first 20 chapters are medical device technology chapters; the remaining 8 chapters are medical device laboratory experiment chapters. Each medical device chapter begins with an exposition of appropriate physiology, mathematical modeling or biocompatibility issues, and clinical need. A device system description and system diagram provide details on technology function and administration of diagnosis and/or therapy. The systems approach enables students to quickly identify the relationships between devices. Device key features are based on five applicable consensus standard requirements from organizations such as ISO and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).  Key Features: The medical devices discussed are Nobel Prize or Lasker Clinical Prize winners, vital signs devices, and devices in high industry growth areasThree significant Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recall case studies which have impacted FDA medical device regulation are included in appropriate device chaptersExercises at the end of each chapter include traditional homework problems, analysis exercises, and four questions from assigned primary literatureEight laboratory experiments are detailed that provide hands-on reinforcement of device concepts

ChargeCoupled Device

ChargeCoupled Device

A chargecoupled device (CCD) is a device for the movement of electrical charge, usually from within the device to an area where the charge can be manipulated, for example conversion into a digital value. This is achieved by shifting the signals between stages within the device one at a time. Technically, CCDs are implemented as shift registers that move charge between capacative bins in the device, with the shift allowing for the transfer of charge between bins. Often the device is integrated with a sensor, such as a photoelectric device to produce the charge that is being read, thus making the CCD a major technology where the conversion of images into a digital signal is required. Although CCDs are not the only technology to allow for light detection, CCDs are widely used in professional, medical, and scientific applications where highquality image data is required.
