Lift Chair Seat looking for the manufacturers name or even the "style" name for a living room den chair my parents had.?
This is not an office chair, it was a deep seating reclining chair with a separate footstool. I believe they bought it in the '50's in the eastern US. The chair had a wood frame with wooden arms and slats running from the arms to the base. The entire one-piece seat and back was upholstered in vinyl and lifted out of the base. The rear of the base had adjustments so you could angle the seat. The footstool top lifted off reveling a storage compartment.
The " ottoman" would have been an "Hassock"- the chair sound like a "'Morris" chair- designed by WIlliam Morris- the style is still available today in higher end stores- probably done in leather instead of vinyl
