Foot Drop $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Foot drop is an inability or difficulty in moving the ankle and toes upward (dorsiflexion). In walking, the leg must be lifted higher than usual to prevent the foot from dragging along the ground. Foot drop is usually caused by nerve damage, but may also be caused by muscle damage, abnormal anatomy, or a combination. Foot drop is caused by diseases that damage the long nerves. The deep fibular/peroneal nerve innervates the front (anterior) compartment of the leg. Damage to this nerve will lead to the inability for the leg to dorsiflex the foot, therefore causing foot drop. The result is an abnormal gait. Physical Therapy Exercises for Foot & Ankle Pain : Physical Therapy Stretches for Calf Muscle Pain
My L leg, ankle and foot has been swelled for month+. It goes down a little thru the night. whats wrong w/ me?
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with me. The doctors I have seen sure don't. I have saw three or four and have gotten no where. Only my left leg, ankle and foot swells. By the evening hours it feels like it will burst if I stand on my foot. I'm not pregnant, that's not possible. So, what could be the cause of this? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
I can barely squeeze my leg and it leaves a deep indention. Takes a few minutes to return to normal. I forgot to mention my knee. That is where it first swelled. Just my knee was real swollen and painful for the first week or so, then it moved on down my leg.
Have you gone to see a foot doctor? It kind of sounds like water rentention. Swelling on the leg, ankle and foot is called edema and if you can push in you skin and it takes a while for it to bounce back to normal then you need to see another doctor. That is a sign of a heart problem called CHF. But try to go see a foot specialist. I
