Large Power Mobility

Question for Gamers laptop v Desktop?
In my short time here I find people tend to say Laptop are better for gaming than a desktop? This defies logic as a laptop is compact, small CPU so as not to generate heat, limited to amount of RAM, running on Battery you have to sacrifice power to prolong batter life? In it's compactness it will generate heat but make it hard to dissipate heat.
A desktop on the other hand, can fit 6 120ml fans, larger PSU's, water cool or mineral oil cool, larger CPU's available, more space provided around component's for heat dissipation.
My limited IT experience, tells me there must be some reason but what apart from mobility?
Thanks in Advance
There are no reasons. Anyone who says a laptop is better for gaming than a desktop is an idiot or a troll. Desktops are just so much more customizable. You already listed many of the reasons, such as water cooling, so it seems like you understand it pretty well.

Capital Mobility and Tax Competition $71.7 Tax competition and coordination is one of the most pressing issues for tax authorities in modern economies, but it is a highly controversial subject. Some argue that tax competition is beneficial by forcing governments to impose efficient tax prices on residents for the provision of public services. Further, some argue that tax competition is also beneficial by limiting the power of governments to levy taxes. Others take a different view in a world without coordinated tax policies, governments choose suboptimal levels of public services financed by inefficient taxes that are either too high or too low by ignoring spillovers imposed on other jurisdictions. Capital Mobility and Tax Competition draws out the most important issues of uncoordinated tax policy at the international level for crossborder transactions. The discussion focuses on mobile tax bases, specifically in relation to investment and financial transactions. The main issue for consideration in this survey is whether taxation of income, specifically capital income will survive, how border crossing investment is taxed relative to domestic investment, and whether welfare gains can be achieved through international tax coordination. This survey derives some of the key results on the taxation of international investment in variants of one model of multinational investment. Finally, the authors emphasize the problem of tax competition and financial arbitrage, an issue which is somewhat neglected in the existing survey literature. Structure and Agency in International Capital Mobility $66.4 This book highlights the importance of mobile resources as a feature of globalization, and challenges the received wisdom about the causes and effects of international capital mobility. From a world concerned with strategic weapons and the risks of mutual annihilation, a new world order is emerging in which different forces loom large in the communal consciousness. In this new order, resources and the jobs they produce haveat least in the Westpushed security matters firmly into second place. Author: Sinclair, Timothy J./ Thomas, Kenneth P. Social Stratification and Mobility in Central Veracruz $35.04 Since the Revolution of 1910, Mexican society has undergone a profound transformation, characterized by the disempowerment of the landed aristocracy and the rise of a new ruling class of plutocrats and politicians; the development of a middle class of whitecollar professionals; and the upward mobility of formerly disenfranchised Indians who have become urban, workingclass Mestizos. Indeed, Mexicos class system today increasingly resembles that of Western industrialized nations, proving that, while further democratic reforms are needed, the Revolution initiated an ongoing process of change that has created a more egalitarian society in Mexico with greater opportunities for social advancement. This authoritative ethnography examines the transformation of social classes in the CordobaOrizaba region during the latter half of the twentieth century to create a model of provincial social stratification in Mexico. Hugo Nutini focuses on the increased social mobility that has affected all classes of society, especially the rural Indians who have taken advantage of education, job opportunities, and contact with the wider world to achieve Mestizo status. He also traces the transfer of power that followed the demise of the hacienda system, as well as the growing importance of the middle class. This description and analysis of the provincial social stratification system complements the work Nutini has done on the national class system, centered in Mexico City, to offer a comprehensive picture of social stratification and mobility in Mexico today. [SNYP] MW2 Ultimate Guide to Rushing!
Which Processor and Graphics card should I get?
I am going to buy a Dell Studio laptop and here are my choices:
- Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 & Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
- Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 & 256mb ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450
The second one is $200 more then the first. Is it worth it to have the extra power knowing that I don't play games that often and will probably never play games that are really graphics intensive. I will use it mostly for Internet, Music, Word, Excel, Large PDF documents, and occasionally movies.
If your never going to play games there's no reason to get the ATI mobility radeon. But keep in mind if you do order the one with integrated graphics you're going to regret it if you do decide to play games. But the movies might look nicer with the ATI mobility radeon because it could quite possibly render the movie better.
