I had surgery on my knee an they want me to be in school?
I had surgery to repair a torn meniscus on july 12th. I should be able to walk already but the dr said they removed half of it an that they drilled holes in the bone cause i was getting early arthritis. So he told me i cant walk on it for 3 more weeks. So yesterday was the first day of school an didnt go an i dont know what to. I can't use crutches or a walker cause im big an it hurts my good leg a lot when i do the hop. They told me the nurse has wheelchairs but i dont know how it will work cause i have trouble gettin in the desk cause its like connected to the chair. Me not being able to use one leg makes it a lot harder an also there is like literally no space in between the desk rows so how am i suppose to this? Can someone please tell me what to do?
get your doctor to write an RX for a loaner wheelchair. Then go to a wheelchair company and they can get your insurance to pay for it.

What are some good tips and tricks about putting on and wearing a prosthetic leg for a below the knee amputee?
My mother had to have her right leg amputated about 3-5 inches below the knee just over a year ago. She has a prosthetic leg, however has trouble wearing it so she relies mainly on her walker to get around the house and her wheelchair for when she needs to go out but can't wear her leg. Her main problems are that she either cannot get her stump in to the socket, cannot get the bolt into the lock or she experiences quite a bit of pain in her stump. She has followed all the doctors instructions with the shrink sock and when on the prosthetic appears to fit correctly. Her stump does appear to be swollen most of the time. If anyone has any advice, tips, or tricks, please share.
everything fits fine her major problem is that she cant seem to get the bolt to line up with the lock. Also she tends to experience some swelling of her stump now and again.
Her prosthetic device including the socket was either not fitted correctly or she was measured to soon after the amputation before it had time to heal....Depending on the length of time since the surgery, I would guess that it was not fitted (measured ) properly and I would raise hell with the manufactures.
