My 49 cc moped hasn't been started in 2 yrs. It's been inside storage. Can I just put gas & oil in & start it?
Is it safe to try to start it. I've heard something about gasoline in the tank may have turned to lacquer. If I just make sure the tank is empty and put new gas, would it do any damage? Or what if I just start it with the old gas that's in the tank? (I'm not sure if there's gas in the tank.)
Chances are that it is also in the carburetor as well.
DON"T even attempt to start it without FLUSHING out the carb.
Just dumping new gas in it will just push old crap into the carb, and cause you more problems. Do it right, and clean the ENTIRE fuel system. 2 cycle fuel will separate over time, and will gum up the carb BADLY!!!! Gummed up carb= no fuel=no start. Do it right the first time. It will save you a lot of aggravation.

ask about fuel storage inside Machine?
Can I ask a question ,How long can I let the gasoline inside the fuel tank (inside machine )and Do They have anyway to treat the fuel for the whole years without loose the quality of the fuel.If the fuel mix with oil how long I can let it inside machine and which way to treat it.Some book They said when We put machine not in use for a long time ,We have to drain gasoline out to avoid the problem in the future.is that true .
Gasoline residue can gum up carburetors and fuel injectors. It can also destroy plastic fuel tanks on some lawn equipment. Fuel stabilizers are best used on full tanks of gas on cars or boats. Fuel stays fresh for about 3 months. It's best to use up all the fuel in lawn equipment or dump it back in to a gas can. If it needs to be premixed with oil, keep a gas can around just for premixed fuel
