TubBuddy Bathing Transfer System with No Tilt $2886 Features of the TubBuddy Bathing Transfer System: The TubBuddy is an ergonomic bathing transfer system designed to allow a patient to safely transfer over a bath tub without committing to any costly construction. This model is also capable of rolling over standard/elongated toilets to be used as a commode. The TubBuddy eliminates unnecessary transfers between toileting and bathing making it comfortable for both patient and caregiver meanwhile reducing costs and contributing to good patient hygiene. Bath time can be a struggle and a danger for wheelchair-bound individuals and their caregivers, particularly when using a bathtub as opposed to a shower stall. Transferring the patient in and out of the tub, attempting to move an individual who lacks upper body control, and repositioning the patient to wash all body parts put both parties at risk. Even bath chairs equipped with slider transfer systems require lifting the patient’s legs over the tub, presenting additional hazards. The TubBuddy, a new bath chair transfer system, solves these problems with a patent-pending, industry-first hydraulic tilting mechanism that enables the chair to lean back and lock at a 10, 20 or 30-degree incline with the press of a lever. This unique tilting capability reduces the risk of having the patient fall out of the chair during either the transfer or bathing process, and it allows the patient’s legs to easily clear the side of the tub without the strain and potential mishaps associated with physically lifting them. The ability to recline the chair also provides trunk and head support, relieves pressure points, offers easier access to the buttocks and other intimate areas, and makes bath time a more comfortable experience overall. The TubBuddy also features a built-in commode for bedside use; a roll-over commode capability for standard toileting; a tub base unit with a bearingless track that requires no oiling or maintenance; and the first transfer bridge that can be resized to accommodate odd-sized bathtubs or unusual bathroom layouts. The bridge is removable, allowing patients with sufficient mobility to bathe independently behind a shower door or curtain. In addition, the TubBuddy is the first system of its kind made of 95% high grade aluminum and 5% stainless steel for greater strength, better rust resistance and longer life. In fact the TubBuddy will not rust, corrode, bend, or break.
