HELP - clothes dryer will not stay off - times through 'off' and goes to next cycle?
I have a 9 yr old Electric Kenmore Super Heavy Duty clothes dryer that has decided not to “turn off”. The only way it does not run is to have the door open.
It started this weekend. When I added a couple of items to the dryer and I did not need to push the start button I just thought the detergent was pressing it and moved it. It was set for Time Dry and when I though it had been running too I checked and pulled the clothes out. Then I saw the dryer had cycled through "Time Dry" and was on "Air Dry". I moved the dial to "Off" for "Air Dry" and about 10 min later it went on again for "Auto Dry". I moved the dial to "Off" for "Auto Dry" and about 10 min later it went on again for "Time Dry". I tried a computer trick - unplugged it for 5 min and plugged it back in - did not work!
HELP - I have 3 kids - an active 9 yr old and 2 toddlers and need my dryer!
Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.
you have a bad door switch you should have a repair man for this job to fix take the 2 screws out from lint trap pull top lid towards you then lift up then look straight down in front you will see 2 wires take them off then connect the 2 wires together then the dryer will work fine but do replace the door switch because it is a saftey feature for incase children climb in then it would not run by itself i have done appliance repair for 15 years this will work

'Super' van refers to the length (it is extended)
'Heavy Duty' (also known as 'Super Duty') refers to the suspension. IE: E150= 1/2 ton...E250=3/4ton...E350=1ton.
